I love homemade jam, but I never eat it because it’s usually made with refined sugar. This week I made a healthier version of jam, Blackberry Chia Jam, which uses raw blackberries, so no cooking required, and is sweetened with maple syrup and orange juice. It tasted great on toast with almond butter.
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
- ⅓ cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
- ⅛ tsp sea salt
- 4 tbsp maple syrup
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Let jam sit for 1 hour before serving, it should thicken significantly.
